The Swine Flu Origin.

The current pig/swine flu epidemic that occurred in the American Mexican industrialized area is believed to have originated in the 4 year old boy who was infected first. Though this boy survived the flu infection, his case was the first of the bird-pig-human “chimera” virus in Mexico. It was a fact that the boy lived very close to a pig farm and tests proved that this disease that infected the boy was of the same strain of virus that later caused the epidemic.

It is a common fact that people do contract a type of pig flu from close proximity to pigs or pig farming and this happens all over the world, but what is extremely rare and uncommon is transmitting this acquired virus from an animal to another human as was during the epidemic. However a systematic surveillance has to be carried out in countries to provide the evidence that new elements in swine can actually result in the birth of a strain of virus that have pandemic potentiality in human beings.

Scientists and doctors have tried to find out information on the origins of the flu and its early development. Some believe that the H1N1 flu virus was derived from many other viruses that are circulating in swine and the first transmission from pig to humans actually occurred many months before the outbreak was even recognized. Therefore many believe it is the lack of systematic and thorough surveillance of swine that has allowed the evolution of the pandemic strain of virus to go undetected for many years!

Whatever the origin the fact remains that the swine flu is extremely contagious and one can get infected by touching contaminated surfaces. The Smittstopp spray is one that ensures safety and long term protection of these dangerous microorganisms. Once sprayed on the surface, it leaves behind a thin coating of cationic polymer that is positively charged. This layer works on the principle of “electrostatic attraction” and attracts the negatively charged anionic microorganisms (viruses and bacteria). The moment these viruses get stuck to the sprayed surface, they are destroyed immediately.

It is therefore very important that this spray is used in all places that are most likely to get contaminated, like public toilets, malls, libraries, hotels and restaurants, shopping centers, schools and colleges, train and bus terminals, amusement parks etc. Taps, switches, handles, door knobs, lift buttons, table tops, banister railings etc can be kept totally virus free if sprayed with the Smittstopp spray.

Care should be taken to see that the sprayed surfaces are kept clean. The spray removes all dirt, fats and grease and acts as a disinfectant. One can also spray clothes with the Smittstopp spray which does not lose its effect even after 20 washes. Common sprays should not be sprayed on top of the Smittstopp spray because these are anionic (negatively charged) and it would neutralize the effect of the cationic polymer of the Smittstopp spray. Personal items that are constantly touched like keys, cell phones, watches, hand bags etc should also be sprayed to reduce the risk of infection.

The swine flu origin might have had its roots in Mexico, but the fact that this disease has claimed many lives all over the world proves that one should be extremely responsible and sensible when it comes to dealing with it. As long as one takes all the precautions and is on the lookout for the tell-tale symptoms, it is possible to keep the virus at bay.
