The h1n1 virus has badly affected the world in the year 2009. Along with Mexico, Canada and United States China, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Netherlands, Korea, United Kingdom, Austria and many other Asian and European nations were also dealing with swine flu in the year 2009. United States was badly affected with swine flu virus in 2009. The states of USA such as Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Virginia, and Wisconsin are among the fifty states of USA which were at high risk of swine flu last year. About 50 million Americans were infected with swine flu and 10,000 Americans died from it in 2009. This is half of the total swine flu cases in the whole world.

Necessity of knowing which states have swine flu

Swine flu was declared as a global pandemic so people who used to travel different places during their vacations or because of any other reasons wanted to know which states have swine flu. It also becomes necessary to know which states have swine flu because swine flu virus can make any human it’s victim and people even don’t know unless the virus develops in the body. But the world health organization said traveling to these nations cannot be risky if people are careful and take medical help, on manifestation of symptoms of swine flu. The medical help was provided by each state authority to the people who felt illness or other signs of swine flu. WHO also clarified that there was no risk of getting infected by eating pork or pork product during flu epidemic if it is cooked properly.

The world health organization and the center for disease control and prevention also surveyed which states have swine flu to asses the situation of swine flu there and estimate requirement of antiviral medicine, vaccination against flu, surgical masks and other medical treatments in those places. The supply of medicines and other necessary items were increased in places having critical swine flu cases. The schools were also closed in those places and anyone founded to have swine flu was asked to stay at home until fully cured from the disease.

As many states depend on tourism, it was important to know which states have swine flu. Tour and travel industry suffered a great loss due to outbreaks of swine flu in 2009. Most frequent travelers restrained from traveling this year.
